Daily Wallpaper - for Bing App Reviews
Love the idea and thought this was very close to what I’ve been looking for, but I would like more options and more control. The new wallpaper simply appears, and if I don’t like it or it obstructs what’s on the desktop, I don’t get any other options. Clicking on the icon only restored that day’s chosen wallpaper. I was able to get rid of the picture they sent by choosing one of the default choices that came with the computer, but it kept switching back and I had to override it several times. It became so annoying, I had to uninstall. Also, it would be nice to have the option to read about the place in the picture or at least know what I’m looking at. Then at least maybe the price would be a little more justified. I just felt the price is too high for what you get - especially since I deleted it.
I have been wishing for the bing wallpaper changer for years. I love a new daily wallpaper, but dealing with bing directly is a pain. This app is perfect for those that are used to the bing app on other platforms.
Doesn’t Work
I installed the app and after a dy, it doesn’t work. I followed the instructions about turning off the wallpaper function in OS X but to no avail.
I am so glad that Mac users finally can enjoy these stunning pics! The pics change every day, just as stated. I have not been able to figure out how to see the details of the photos (origin, etc) like my husband can on his pc, but this app is still well-worth downloading for the high resolution photos.
I love my Mac Air but missed the Bing picture of the day. It was the only thing that I missed about my old Windows laptop. The current version has great picture quality and has the description of the pictures. Seing my Bing picture of the day is a pleasure. Money well spent!
I ditched windows for Mac long ago and the only thing I missed was the bing picture of the day. I’ve downloaded dozens of programs that claim to do what this one does. This one’s simplicity is amazing… it downloads the file and does what it says it will do… and I have a new beautiful bing image every day. Thank you so much!
Been wanting this feature for so long on the mac. Glad someone finually figured a way to do this. No issues with application, works without any issues.

At work, Bing Desktop, free, does this for me. I really liked it, but could not find a free way to do it on my 27” iMac. I finally decided to go ahead and buy it. It is just beautiful on my display. The app is updated as needed.

Not the Bing Desktop wallpaper
I have Bing desktop installed on a PC, and the first few days after I installed this program it had the same image as my PC, but the last couple days the images have not matched up. Please make sure you are using Bing’s daily wallpaper image, as that is what I paid for.
Excellent App
Mac Default wallpapers are nice and all, but having something new and beautiful every day is excellent. Been using on all my Macs for years now.
Works great
What I really wanted is the Windows Spotlight wallpaper (not Bing) but this is close enough. Hopefully the dev will add this in the future.

I have been using the app for a few years now. Having a new desktop daily really brightens my day. This app is better than original Bing app forcing you to use Bing as search engine. I just wanted the lovely Bing wallpapers only, and this app does it! Once on MacOS upgrade I had an issue of app not starting up, so I’ve reached out to developer via email, and it was resolved very quickly. I really love this app :)
App quality
App works perfectly and updates/refreshes almost instantly. The Windows OS has a similar app to this one, but it is trash.
Wonderful App
I had written a previous review because I could not get this to work and couldn't reach the developer by clicking app support as it only linked to email and I couldn't do it that way. The developer replied to the review with the email address so that is great. I can't update the review because i changed my email address so keep that in mind. Anyway this app is one of my favorite and keeps my desktop looking fresh and awesome. Thank you.
Perfection
It just works. I always like to try and guess where the photo is from... I'm only right about 20% of the time. Everyone photo that Bing uses on their homepage is absolutely gorgeous and this app uses their API perfectly. Don't delay. Buy today!
Outstanding!
My wife and I love this app. The daily views are wonderfully curated, with amazing photos for all parts of the world and all types of scenes. We look at the photos many times per day, seeing something new and exciting. It's a "must-have" app
Issues with Multiple Monitor Sizes Otherwise Good
I dock my 13" macbook air into an ultrawide desktop monitor. On my MacBook Air 13" screen the image downloaded is solid. But when I plug into the ultrawide monitor it's super grainy. I don't know how to solve this, I can't see an option to download a higher quality image. On my 13" windows laptop, the native Bing app manages to pull a good quality image that works on both laptop and ultrawide screen size. So I think it's an issue with this app. Otherwise great, works (though I wish the native microsoft app for mac worked on apple silicon).
Help
Love the daily wallpaper, but all of a sudden no longer does the app icon show at the top of my screen. SO I thought I couldn't see source, BUT it was just I hadn't clicked on hide app detail from opening. Once I did that, icon with ability to see source of desktop is back. Yay!!! sorry for reporting a non-problem. pk

Love having a new wallpaper display every day! Really, just set up the app once and you're done. It's stable and does what it's supposed to do.

Does what it's supposed to!
Simple app that does one thing and does it well. Grabs the Bing wallpaper and sets it on your desktop, no more no less. Ok, so maybe it lets you see the wallpaper from other regions. It also saves the wallpaper so you can go back to one you really liked. That's all cool too. Money well spent.

Love this app
This is single handedly the most satisfying app I have ever downloaded from the app store. It does EXACTLY what I want, which is changes my wallpaper everyday on its own, somthing that Mac for years has not been able to do.

i shift desktops but wall paper keeps the same, i have no idea how to change it

works as expected, no issues with it, and great photos. Only request would be to make the images higher quality, they seem just slightly less than what you see on the bing website.
This is wonderful
I enjoy looking at these pictures every day on my Macs. And I joyfully anticipate seeing a new one tomorrow. The app works very well; I've no complaints at all. I have one suggestion: please make the desription copyable somewhere so that I can paste it into my hiking bucket list.
Not always the same
So .. it doesnt always match what is showing on the windows side of wallpaper app. When you have alot of machines using this app for the background.. its annoying when the windows and this macOS doesnt match..

Very pretty, but wont fill all my desktops.
on the preferences page of the app, it says that there is no room to for the other desktops, while i do in fact have more open. I just want multiple pictures to show up. Other than that, i really like it. Very simple to use.
Sparks joy
I've always loved having the daily Bing wallpapers and was sad when I couldn't have it any more when I switched to Mac. Love having a day little spark of joy every morning. ;)
Database disk image is malformed
I got this error recently when I restarted my mac... Don't know why, but I still love this app.
Lovely app
I love this. The app does exactly as advertised. It doesn't seem to be launching at an initial logon. Don't know if this is a MacOS Mojave thing; and it's not a huge issue. But nice if this could be working.

Settings are well thought out and explained.
Add translation
Just bought the app and really enjoying it. I like that we can choose from different countries and read the picture's info. My suggestion is to add an option to translate certain countries into English. I understand English and Chinese, but I can’t read the other countries’ info.
issues with duplicate pix
i have issues with the wallpaper downloading the same picture more than once and i had to disable the app untill i got home because i was on a hotspot maybe have an option that allows users to just download todays wallpaper would be nice also an option to rotate the wallpaper at different times would be nice (after a certin amout was downloaded)

Just what I was looking for. Love Bing’s daily pictures but don’t use Bing. This app now gets those pictures to my mac desktop! Worked as advertised out of the box, no issues. One thing I discovered that might be helpful to others. I use Google Drive’s Backup and Sync app to keep my Mac’s “Pictures" folder in sync with my Google Photos. The “Daily Wallpaper Bing Edition" application was set to download Bing’s pictures to the same folder, which I had not realized until I saw all these Bing pictures show up in my Google Photos. The solution was to change this app to download Bing pictures to a folder other than the one Google Drive was using. That can be done through this application’s settings in the “Cache” section. Once I did that, however, I started getting an error saying that this app could not write to that folder. That can be fixed by making sure that the folder you select is writable - either by running a ‘chmod’ command using terminal or going to Finder, selecting GetInfo and then Sharing and Permnissions. Once this was done the app was downloading Bing pictures to that folder and they were kept separate from my personal Pictures. My suggestion to the author of this app would be to set the default download folder to something other than the “Pictures” folder on the Mac. Great app overall. It’s a pleasure to look at my mac’s desktop now :) !

Memory hog!
Love the functionality, but just discovered that this app was taking almost 2 Gb of memory. What!!! No way an app this simple should be sopping memory like this. Something is badly broken. Memory leak in code???

Thank you for fixing the bugs! This app gives functionality to the only thing that Windows does that OSX can’t - show Bing’s beautiful daily pictures. Nicely done! I love using it.
how to reset settings
Accidentally i make a mistake in the app settings and i am not able to restore the defult setting of the app.. i think i have deleted a sort of file in the picture folder … the app stop working .. removing the app not solving the problem .. any help ?

Very simple and easy to use, but the pictures don’t seem to be the full versions
This app works great and is very simple to use and setup. But the pictures it is downloading are all much lower resolution than my macbook and monitor; it seems to be limited in resolution? I’m not sure if this is a limitation on the Bing side or the app side but if it had images that were able to fit the 13” macbook resolution that would be ideal. Otherwise, this is a great little app.

This app is easily worth the price of admission. It continues to see updates that are surprisingly useful and wonderful, and being able to have the Bing wallpaper of the day change daily is great for me. Thanks for a fantastic app!
